Polystyrene Wastes
Polystyrene wastes are typically found either in a
hard plastics
form or as a
foam material.
If you wish to Buy or Sell Scrap Polystyrene, please feel free to
ADD your inquiry to the PS Recycling exchange.
The exchange service operates as a neutral platform that directly connects buyers and sellers of Polystyrene
and has been online since 1995.
PS Polystyrene Recycling
PS Polystyrene resin is used to manufacture a variety of plastic products for its
hard, durable properties. High Impact Polystyrene HIPS and General Purpose Polystyrene GPPS
are widely used in phone bodies and computer shells, keyboads or wherever resilience is required.

Scrap, Regrind, Repro
The recycling process typically begins by sorting, cleaning and removing any contamination from
the Scrap PS. The scrap may then be baled to facilitate efficient transportation.
Size reduction of the Scrap Polystyrene is achieved by
shredding or grinding the miscellaneous sizes and shapes of scrap into a
uniform regrind.
The ground material may then be processed or
extruded into a Repro form
for direct reuse or blending with virgin resins.
Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPSF)
Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPSF) scrap commonly referred to as Styrofoam is mainly generated from
packaging materials, food container waste and from styrofoam insulation scrap.
Polystyrene
Reduction Equipment
uses heat and pressure to convert Expanded Polystyrene Foam waste into Thermal Condensed PS Blocks.
The densified PS blocks optimize transportation and may be further processed as any
hard PS scrap.
